What is Day of Caring?
Day of Caring is an annual event that sends hundreds of volunteers out into our community to perform much-needed projects at nonprofit organizations.
In 2020, when a global pandemic kept us from doing our usual large gathering of community members and nonprofit agencies, we started doing smaller DayS of Caring.
We enjoyed stepping out of the box and creating days to give back to the community in a variety of ways at different times of the year...so DayS of Caring continues into 2021.
DayS of Caring 2021
Day of Caring #1--Give Stuff
July 29: The Teacher Store Feed the Children, OG&E, Georgia-Pacific, Lake Area United Way, Boomerang and NSU-Muskogee are working together to bring a FREE store for area public school teachers. The community and these organizations will provide supplies that teachers can choose for free.
Volunteers are needed to host supply drives to benefit teachers. On July 29th, volunteers are needed to collect, organize and distribute supplies to teachers. Sign up to volunteer below.
Day of Caring #2--Fix Stuff
September 24: Traditional Projects for Non-Profits Companies and Service Organizations send small groups of volunteers to work on projects at a nonprofit or they can choose a project to take to their facility to complete. If companies prefer, they can have a drive for items that nonprofits request.
Day of Caring #3--Give Life
November 4: Blood Drives
Blood drives will be held in Muskogee and Tahlequah to help save lives.
Companies and individuals can use this form below to register to volunteer for one or all of these Days of Caring.
