Samantha Cook joins Lake Area United Way after 13 years with Volunteers of America Oklahoma, where she served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Director of Communications, Special Events, and Volunteer Services.  In that role, she independently managed more than 460 volunteers across four eastern Oklahoma counties, helping drive meaningful community impact through volunteerism, outreach, and collaborative partnerships. 

 

Samantha is a graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in human and Family Studies with an emphasis in Human and Community Services and a minor in Psychology and Sociology. Samantha has obtained multiple leadership certifications through the National Volunteers of America Leadership Program, Key Makers in Washington, DC. She is also a graduate of Class 30 of the Muskogee Greater Area Chamber of Commerce’s Muskogee Leadership program. Her commitment to community service was further recognized when she was named the Muskogee Greater Area Chamber of Commerce Young Professional of the Year in 2025.

 

A fourth-generation Rotarian and Paul Harris Fellow, Samantha is deeply passionate about serving the community she calls home. A long-time and trusted partner of Lake Area United Way, she is excited to now serve the organization from within and help advance its mission of creating lasting, positive change.
